Gotta love the Internet!! Everything that was said in this video should be helpful to ANY aspiring actor. Don't listen to these idiot, wanna be YouTube critics. Don't know what the $% they're talking about. Acting is "Living truthfully under imaginary circumstances". It's that simple & that difficult.

its amazing how some ppl can take acting classes for many years and never grasp that (believe me...ive met some of those ppl)...at the end of the day, the quality of your acting is wholly dependent upon how well you play that character and whether you're convincing...

@mistimtnblue I totally agree. That statement he made single-handedly exposed why most actors who start in film or TV are significantly inferior to those with a solid background in theater. Film/TV bred actors think they can just look pretty and depend on others to make them look good. Theater bred actors are the ones you actually WANT to watch on film/TV/theater, because they put the work into it, tend to be less shallow or in it for the fame, and then their character completely comes to life.

There are some good tidbits in here but I have to TOTALLY disagree with that statement that 'TV and movies are not performing'. So not true. The editing can certainly enhance a performance to a great degree but just because editing is so important, you CANNOT discredit the actors performance in a TV or movie role. That is just ridiculous. |
