Interactive Challenge: Hold Your Breath

HOW LONG CAN PEOPLE HOLD THEIR BREATH? Average people can hold their breath (above water) for 45 - 90 seconds. If you think this challenge was too easy, then try it underwater! The current world record for the longest breath held is 8:58 without the aid of an oxygen machine (like David Blane used for his 17 minute breath). Don't cover your nose or mouth (with anything) while holding your breath and STOP holding your breath when I tell you it's time to breath. USE YOUR COMMON SENSE!
