@tobiasaberg You are right. But I still think Trophy's design will prevail in the future. Its is not that bad in terms of collateral damage (about 1% prediction), and Iron Curtain is way too awkward and bulky and still has blind spots (high elevation shots).
What left me flabbergasted is the US refusing the fully tested Trophy in 2006 and rather starting a new system from scratch. War on Terror is basically over now.

@Falewick The israeli weapon (Trophy) was different (both in principle and in theory). Basically a souped up radar guided shotgun (kind of like the Phalanx CIWS, but in minature). This system though looks like it's far lighter than the trophy system though (and with less limitations in terms of "killing supporting troops).
Agreed though that Quick Kill was (and is) absolute crap.

Israelis had this for sale like 5 years ago but the US had to go with an overpriced and outright crazy option of shooting the incoming missile down with another missile - by Raytheon (now scrapped). Biggest threat to US troops is corruption.

If you fire from a building straight down, does it work

It's like the Avenger from C&C Generals, except with less lasers.

@HaloPokemon5Master Everything has it's flaws. It won't always work. The point is that it increases the chance of survival, but does not eliminate the chance of death. |
