FF13 had a very interesting story and incredible battle system but it lacked the very things that make final fantasy...well...final fantasy. No open world map, no town hopping, no training to level up, no side quests and many other little things. The reason I love final fantasy is the things that made 7, 8, 9 and even 10 so great which were missing in 13, don't get me wrong I liked 13 but it just missed what I was looking for. Atleast it was better than 12(worst FF ever), I give it a 6 out of 10

Been playing FF games for over 10 years and all I can say is SE you've sold out. Enjoy your mainstream action-based RPG's with more cutscenes than gameplay. Even then the gameplay consists of linear maps with no freedom what so ever and you simply press up & X. If you encounter an enemy, again simply press X as it's now "Auto-battle". Srsly?
These new games will never be part of this great legacy. SE should be hung from their balls for going down this path.

@martinpenger You start on FF13. For the sequel of it play FFXIII-2.
If you talk of the old FF games like FFI through FFXII, then they are not direct sequels to each other. Square Enix just likes to re-use the name over and over but with different roman numerals. My personal favorite out of all of them is FFX. I recommend to play all of them because you will never know which one you will like best. Don't ever go by what other people say. Though I haven't played all of them, I plan to. |
