@SamWiseGingy your understanding of these political conditions is lacking fact and historic truth. Your definition of a Republic is grossly inaccurate, and clouded by your beliefs and pre-conceived notions..... I am not attacking or blaming you..... please do a more thorough investigation of these terms and forget much of what the public schools have conditioned you toward. as they say "the truth shall set you free"..... don't spin that to be biblical in origin, it is a natural law

@SamWiseGingy ???? Rule of LAW! our LAW states unequivocally ALL States shall have a Republican form of government! Democracies accommodate things like the NDAA, or un-ratified tax laws, 51% can and do decide to eliminate or silence dissent, they track and monitor and categorize the opposition to suppress them. You do not seem to command a truly full understanding of the terms and definitions here. Perhaps the public schools did you a dis-service. Please table your preconceptions

@DanielShaysRebellion Republic and Democratic are not mutually exclusive. By "Republican from of government" that meant that they had to divide power among the branches. Why do you hate democracy?

voting doesnt work they have elections rigged and it has been proved that there is election fraud. @SamWiseGingy Without question Mr. Paine had his opinions. My favorite is "the Christian religion is a parody on the worship of the Sun, in which they put a man called Christ in the place of the Sun, and pay him the adoration originally payed to the Sun." correct as he is however Article 4 section 4 u.S.Constitution clearly declares all States shall have a Republican form of government. NOT A DEMOCRACY as a construct of LAW good luck! pax

We do people always want to live in the past. The Past is gone. move on, keep up with the present. America will only survive if it stops building its ....never ending defense of nationalism. its just fresh buds for war..... many cultures are a good thing, they build unity in a Greater purpose....an aim that needs more than one perspective. All people want to live, just like you.....illegal aliens..? you need to have more compassion.

Its government has no other object than the public business of the nation" It will take you the section of Paine's Rights of Man that define Republic and Democracy. You will see that argues effectively that the USA is both a republic and democracy. I you disagree then your disagreement is with T. P.
