If this technology works and allows sequencing for $1000 or less, about 10x less than current systems, I think it will bring us a step closer to personalised medicine.
The simple fact that it could help cut the cost of initial set up and investment, that is a huge barrier to implementing personalised medicine, could make a big difference. Still it's far to early to be wowed yet.
