THANK YOU for posting this! First darned thing I did with my new bike was dump it on a hill. Had to get my boyfriend to help me pick it up 'cause I had no idea how to do it myself since I can't lift 300 lbs (especially on a hill). Personally though I hope I never have to lay on the ground to get help XD

One small but important detail missing, make sure the bike is in gear. If its in neutral and if there is any slope as soon as you get the metal off the ground it will roll away from you. Even without a slope it will move away unless your force is perfectly across the bike.

i SO wish i saw this vid a week ago. I'm a beginner & i dropped my bike on the right side last weekend. I picked the bike & mounting the bike and dropped it back and the second drop caused a crack on the starter/brake housing. cost = 70 bucks. :-( feels so crappy.
