@mak34237 I'm happy just to live in a country were there is peace, no need to rule over others. Remember that us brits at one time was a slave people to the romans, once a time we were the ''barbarians'' who were ruled by a more powerful empire. And just like the indians did later the british people fought against the roman empire.

@CarolineOskarsson Slavery Is the exception of course. I agree with you the old British empire is finished however the possibility of a second cannot be argued against, or do you claim to know what the world will look like 1000 years from now or even 100 years from now! I hope and pray that The United Kingdom will rise again as the World Imperial Power and I know it will it just takes time!

@mak34237 So slavery is nothing wrong in your opinion? Oppression is always wrong in my mind. National jingoism is a plague of this world and we should move from those times and stop playing barbaric games of conquest and war. We brits would not like if another nation conquered us and made us their servants, no people has the right to rule another people. And the british empire will never return, just like all the other historic empires of this world it is gone forever.

@dshishod Mistake? How is empire building a mistake? Imperialism is an Ideology that works for The Britain and her empire, it made us strong. Strong enough to fight 2 world wars practically on our own. I do not consider the Empire a mistake, I consider letting it break up a mistake! I have a feeling eventually it will return hopefully it won't take another world war to do so!

**** india and britain are both now seperate but equally proud nations. ghandhi was without a doubt one of the most beautiful men that graced this earth. to americans on this im glad u are proud of ur country and so u should be. however i hope congress reach an agreement and dont default on their debt as the knock on effect will be devestating

wat britain did was wrong but remember it was long ago when britain initially invaded india and at a time when trading was the basis of the empire. however independence should never have to be fought so hard by so many especially only 70 years ago. britain has definately learned from its' mistakes and provides aid to many countries including recently east africa in which britain provided more aid than any european nation. i am glad india stayed with the commonwealth at the time and india and br
