I'll grant you Christopher Lee, but McGregor didn't do it for me until ATOTC.
Sidious came off, to me at least, less as cunning and creepy, more as obvious and unintentionally fully. His only real plan was, "shoot the Jedi." That was it. The duel felt a bit over-choreographed to me. It was less about the emotion of the characters, and more about the visuals. It looked nice, but it didn't really fit the context. That's my opinion anyway

Forgot to mention Hayden Christianson (whatever his name is) really did a horrible job and ruined the character of Anakin.

@willmandude Okay, the first two were pretty bad. They focused on visuals over story. The only good things were Christopher Lee (He makes any movie good) and Ewan McGregor to tell the truth.
But the third movie nailed it, i'm sorry, it really did. Sidious was one of the best villains ever, being so creepy and cunning. The duel scenes mattered this time, giving great suspense and conflict, just like Empire's Bespin fight. And the Order 66 thing was one of the most tragic scenes ever in Cinema. |
