Every time I hear this song I tell my wife it's a Navy song. I was in the Navy and it was in Feb of 1967 that we had just come into port, after having been gone for around six months on a Mediteranean Cruise, and we could now hear the radio in Charlston S.C. I heard this song and I really liked it. USS STRONG DD758.

My girlfriends step dad is Bob Armstrong (R.I.P.) founding member and original organist on the studio recorded version. He will be missed greatly but we have this and many other mementos to carry on his legacy. |
