Ironically when Napoleon III invaded Mexico, it was so that he could provide the American Confederacy with weapons to fight the North and prolong the American civil war. Napoleon III wanted to destroy the American Union... So those proud old conservative southerners were getting weapons from France to fight. Funny.

@MrBillcale but Maher is; all he does is speak what is popular news at the time, controversial topics that get him noticed and such. If you want enough of his stuff you begin to see that his 'views' change with the wind.

@MrBillcale My main problem with nuke power is what to do with the waste. It's all well and good to say it's buried in old salt mines out in the desterts of Utah or nevada, but one small crack and it's a major catastrophy. Plus, I live 30 miles from the same type of plant that exploded in Japan. We just had MAJOR floods here in 08 and we are downstream from the thing.

@Mozart1220 again agreed, and they made the right decision with nuclear power they have no oil or coal their air is cleaner than any where in europe it IS the greenest nation in europe, because of nuclear power ,VERY IRONIC, I'M LEFTY ABOUT MANY THINGS BUT I REALIZE this was a good move for france, not only that they did it right standardized plants one of the few efficently run state industries in the world safe disposal, ironically an ideal socialist industry..irony of ironies
