@SwirledtehSwirl The moose grow up in neighborhoods all over Anchorage. They are accustomed to people, cars and barking dogs. We obviously can't go up and pet them but the mother was brought into our yard as a young one by her mother and her little ones will one day and actually probably have brought their own little ones into our yard. There is a moose that will lie down in our yard while our dog barks at her six feet away. We don't have a fence so they co-habitate with our dog. Bless you!

The moose is a very graceful animal, and they obviously love to have a little fun in their life. They usually stay in the same area as their family, and they take precautions. Though it is a dangerous animal, it is very family-oriented. They won't leave their children alone.
I'm very surprised it went into your backyard- They were probably very thirsty or hot. I'm wondering if the mother was watching you for a few days, or just took the risk. Either way, seems they saw great kindness in you.

Really beautiful video, and I happen to think Allison Krause's voice is perfect for such a heartwarming scene of 2 babies playing in a sprinkler with a loving mommy standing by watching...
